Why choose a balance bike?

It’s a confidence booster

Using a balance bike is a great way to give your child confidence while learning to ride
a bike.

Due to the riding position, the seat will always be low enough for your child to reach the ground with their feet. As well as making it easier for them to balance, it also means that they won’t be scared of falling off!

The saddle is set in a very low position so they can reach the floor with their feet, which they use to scoot the bike along. To stop the bike, they will naturally drag will naturally drag their feet to slow themselves down.

Burn off some Christmas energy!

Just as you’d expect from any other form of bike riding, a balance bike provides a great work out for your child – helping to burn off some excess energy!

Most children will instinctively know how to ride the balance bike, but to help them along, our advice is to:

• Encourage your child to stand over the saddle and walk with the bike

• Once they have mastered walking, encourage them to sit in the
saddle while walking.

• In no time at all, your child will be confident enough to run with the bike, and maybe even cruise along with both feet lifted!
